Emergency Bag

Around 36 weeks of pregnancy, it's nice to prepare an emergency bag for the delivery.

This way, you have everything at hand when labor begins and you don't have to think about what you still need to bring at that moment.

What you bring can match what feels comfortable for you. Below you will find a number of items that are often considered helpful.

For the mother

  • Comfortable clothing, such as a loose T-shirt or nightgown for labor
  • Warm socks or slippers
  • Toiletries such as a toothbrush, deodorant, and lip balm
  • Clean clothes for after the birth
  • Underwear and possibly a nursing bra
  • Phone and charger
  • Optional snacks or something to drink
  • Music or a playlist to help you relax

For the baby

  • Two sets of baby clothes
  • Two hats
  • A jacket or blanket for going home

For the partner

  • Clean clothes
  • Snacks or food
  • Charger for phone
  • Slippers
  • Optional swimming trunks

When you give birth in the hospital, it is important that you also have a car seat ready for the trip home.
