Types of contraception
There are different forms of contraception. What suits you best can vary from person to person and depend on life stage.
During a contraception consultation, we take our time to discuss the possibilities and look together at which form best fits your body, wishes, and situation.
Intrauterine device (hormonal or copper)
An intrauterine device is a small anchor-shaped device placed in the uterus. A hormonal IUD releases a small amount of hormone, while a copper IUD works without hormones. Both offer long-lasting protection against pregnancy.
Implant
The implant is a small, flexible rod that is placed under the skin of the upper arm. It releases a hormone that prevents pregnancy and works for several years.
Contraceptive pill and other hormonal methods
The contraceptive pill is taken daily and contains hormones that prevent pregnancy. In addition to the pill, there are other hormonal forms of contraception, such as the patch, ring, or injection.
During a contraception consultation, we calmly look together at the different options. This way, you can make a choice that fits your body, your life, and what makes you feel good.
